The Royal Promenade begins on Deck 5, runs from front to back, and is 4 decks high. This is the reason for only 2 banks of elevators - forward and aft. If you are in the middle and want to move up or down a deck, you will have to hoof it by stairs.
Forward on Deck 5 is the Lotus Lounge. This is another performance venue - often the locale for Bingo, Quest, Ballroom dancing, etc. It has a bar and is a nice place to sit and chat if nothing is going on there.
If you need to catch your helicopter or want a nice forward view of where we're going, step outside from here and go to the bow where there is a nice helipad and observation area.
The cigar lounge, known as the Connoisseur Lounge is next. I believe it is the only place one can light up a stogie onboard. If you got 'em, smoke 'em.
We'll pass the forward Centrum Stairway,
some boutiques and the Cafe Promenade. This is the 24 hour food venue where you can get specialty coffees and Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream (both at a cost) and regular snacks, sandwiches, coffee, etc. that are included in your cruise fare.
Now this might end up being my home away from home. The Wig & Gavel Pub serves all kinds of drinks but of course their specialties are from the British Isles. On a cruise in June, this was a smoking allowed bar. Not many of them on this ship, by the way.
Right by the pub is the midship stairway if you feel the need to stairmaster for a bit.
There are more shops and then the wine bar, Vintages. I suppose we will hang here a bit, too. They have organized (and at a cost) wine tastings several times a week, and otherwise it's just a nice wine bar.
More shops, the RCI Logo Store, the General Store, etc. fill the rest of the Royal Promenade until you reach Guest Relations next to the Aft Centrum stairs and elevators, so if your key doesn't work, or you need some help, this is the place to go.
Right across from Guest Relations is the Champagne Bar. I have never been a fan of RCI Champagne Bars, but will give it a go if that's the consensus.
All the way aft is the third level of the main dining room, Sound Of Music.
On Deck 6 right at the Aft Centrum elevators and stairs you will find Business Services in case you need to send a fax.
Need something good to read? The Library is on Deck 7 directly above Business Services.
Need to check for email? RCI Online computer center is above the Library on Deck 8.
